About Us
Increasing Inclusivity in the Life Sciences
OUTbio is the biotech industry’s largest LGBTQ+ professionals group founded to empower this community and be an advocate for it. Established in 2015 and incorporated as a non-profit in 2019, OUTbio has more than 1,200 members across all facets of biotech.
OUTbio San Diego is a new branch within the broader OUTbio organization. We aim to align with OUTbio to enable and facilitate a community within the life sciences and affiliated industries that supports professional development and networking for LGBTQ+ professionals and allies.

Our goal is to empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual and queer professionals in the San Diego life sciences and affiliated industries through networking, education, advocacy, professional development and peer support.
We imagine a world where all professional barriers are gone for LGBTQ+ professionals and strive to increase inclusivity within the life sciences industry.
